I wanted to show you what I have been working on for the last couple of days. It is a gift to my parents, their anniversary is February 11th so I made them this Valentine. I was having problems with the lighting so I picked this picture it seemed to be the best of all I took. I will try to take a better picture before I send it to them.
I hope to take a better picture for some reason (even with my new camera) it was coming out too red.
My parents will be married for 55 years on February 11th, quite an accomplishment they fight like cats and dogs but I admire them for staying together through thick and thin. It is like a love/hate thing they get on each others nerves but then when something happens to one or the other they are so concerned. Both of my parents are dealing with health issues but they are there for each other even when they fight. I couldn't live in the situation that they live in (maybe that is why I am single) but no matter what happens they are still together. I love them both and it makes me so happy that they have weathered the storm where other people would have walked away. My father has always been a hard worker supporting 5 kids at jobs no one would like, but he did it. I remember when we would go to church and when we would get back home he would put on the stereo you know the vinyl records and he would sing with the music....."The're gonna put me in the movies...gonna make a big star out of me ...All I gotta do is Act Naturally!!!" It makes me cry just thinking of my dad and what I admire about him. My mother went to work when I was 5 years old and they had 5 children I was the oldest and so I was suppose to be the best behaved one which I was :)
Gosh I miss when I was growing up....sometimes I remember I wanted different parents since they were so strict!! But now as I became a parent I understand some of the things they were trying to instill in me. I am truly blessed that my parents are still here to enjoy. Even though I live in Florida and they live in Michigan I do not go a day thinking about them and rejoice they are still here to love on this earth. My mother battled cancer in 2009 and she won!!!
Thank you for listening to me rattle on.....I really appreciate all of you!!!
Suzann xoxoxo

Suzann-What a wonderful tribute to your parents. My hubby's grandparents were like that..they fought constantly and continually...but it was THEIR way of communicating..and it somehow worked for them...and they fiercly defended each other should the need arise.
I am glad you can see the affection that shines through your parents even though they may be "difficult".
Prince Charming? Really? Do they exist? Most of us settle for frogs with the fewest warts we can find!>) xxoo diana
Happy Anniversary to your parents!... they sound wonderful... and I know your Prince Charming is out there on his white horse, just waiting for you!... xoxo Julie Marie

Dear Suzann ... Are we long lost sisters????? You have described MY parents to a "T"! Always bickering and arguing but when the chips are down, they have each other's back! I love the Valentine you've made for them. What a lovely gift! Happy Anniversary to them!
What a beautiful card you created for your parents, they will love it! 55 years is a long time, especially a long time to argue!! But it is glad that they stick together. I am like you, I couldn't live like that either, I like peace!! Have a great night!
Suzann ~ What a lovely write & beautiful card for your parents ... so nice to see share so many beautiful years, in enduring love.
TY for your sweet well wishes ... I'm slowly mending & unbruising.

It's such an impressive accomplishment to be married 55 years, to do it without argument is surely impossible! Congratualtions to your parents. Prince Charming is out there and I know he'll find you. Ontario is a long way from Florida, nevertheless, I'll keep my eyes open for you :-)

Love this post and your Valentine! I had a long comment ready and this thing lost it! Anyway- I don't remember exactly how I had it before- but I am sure your parents are going to love this and thank you for your sweet comment on my blog.

Hi Suzann,
I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't like to get pics taken!!! I think so many people feel the same way--that's why I asked!!!
If I looked like someone in the Victoria Secret's catalogue, I'd takin' pictures every day...lol

Hi Suzann!
You're VERY fortunate to have both your parents still alive AND together...not many of us have that luxury. Enjoy it as long as you can. Love the card you made even if the picture isn't that good...it's a beauty and I'm sure your parents will love it. Love the doors in your newest post...VERY nice! I hope you have a wonderful week.
