Thailand

I am just so excited for my son and I just had to share with you.
My son Corey has been dating this girl for about 16 months now.  She is from Thailand and she has not been home for over 5 years.  Chatima found out her mother was sick and wanted to go home so my son offered to buy her a ticket to go home.  She did not want to travel by herself so my sweet son bought two tickets so he could take her to her home land. He is just the sweetest son and I am so proud of him.  He treats his ladies with the upmost respect and love.  I still had my engagement ring and wedding band from when I was married to his father so he asked if he could have it to give to her.  He wanted her to have the ring so when they went to see her mother he could show her that he loves Cha and wants to marry her.  Her father had passed away I am not sure when so it was important to Corey to show her mother that Cha will be taken care of.
This is her at the Orlando airport on Wednesday morning, I am so happy that she is able to visit her mother.

This is at the airport when they arrived in Thailand

Her fist time to read a newspaper from Thailand in 5 years

This is Cha with her mother

This is my son with her mother.  These pictures were taken at 9:00 am on Friday which is 9:00 on Thursday night (pm) our time.  Isn't modern technology wonderful?  I have also talked with him tonight on my Iphone via an app called TalkBox. It is a voice message system kind a like a walkie talkie.  I could hear Cha in the background talking her native tongue to her mother.  I am so excited for the both of them since this will be the first time my son has ever been out of the country and for her to see her mother.

I am not sure if you can see in this picture but there are several dogs and he told me they are all over and if you sit down to eat anywhere they are right there waiting for a hand out.
I am sorry but I wanted to share the excitement of my son, he is so proud to be able to do this for her.
What I am thankful for is:
I have 4 healthy boys and 2 sweet (Did I say sweet?)grandsons.   I still have the love from my family in Michigan and I still have my health (I think)
How was your day?

I am also thankful for the wonderful "friends" I have found in the year that I have been blogging.  You all bring me such joy to read about what is going in your lives and I hope you enjoy visiting me.

Thank you ;-)
Much love to all of you

Hello and how are you?

Don't you just love candlelight?

I bought this frame at GW for 1.99 and it did not have glass on the front.  But I liked that it was already white and thought I could make something of it.
I made it into this:

The weather today was VERY warm 89 degrees today and we had lots of humidity.....I had to put my air conditioner on again!!!  I want some cooler weather!!!
I haven't been posting...I guess I just been kinda depressed...still haven't found a new job and Christmas is coming.  Had some bad luck with scammers while I was looking for a job...what are they trying to gain?  I don't have any money it is pretty bad when you can't even look for a job without scammers.
Hope something wonderful happens soon.

How are you?

Hope your day is wonderful!!!

My Weekend

I have been really careful to go out shopping since my hours have been cut.  I guess paying the bills has to come first :-(

But this past weekend I stopped at the Orange Tree Mall to see what they had.

These plates are so pretty
This little creamer was marked down but the lady with the booth gave me a deal for the plates and the creamer.  I wanted to buy more but....limited funds
I also bought a couple of Christmas items but I am going to show them in a later post

I also watched my grandsons yesterday since my son was moving into a new apt....in the same apt complex as me!!!!!  I am so excited so now I know I will see my boys more often.
My 3 year old grandson wanted to pump up the tires on his bike so he said to me, "Mema I need the pumper"
I had to laugh that was so darn cute.

Here are Griffin and Holden using the pumper.

Here is a picture of my son Ryan with his son Griffin.
My other son Corey came over also and then we took the two little ones to the park.

It was the best weekend since I spent time with my boys.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Memories

I came across a picture of my grandmother and grandfather.  My grandparents had 12 children and my mother is 2nd to the youngest.  My grandfather passed away when my mother was 12 years old so I never got to meet him.  I lost my grandmother in 1979 and she was from Poland and she would talk to my mother in polish when we would go to visit when she didn't want us kids to know what they were saying.  When I was little I would go spend the night at her house and we would go to church on Sunday.  The service was done in Latin which of course I did not understand but I remember she would have me kneel and say my prayers.  I used to help my grandmother clean doctor offices and one time her car wouldn't start after cleaning.  It was in the winter time so I walked several blocks to my house and my dad went back to help my grandmother get her car started.  When I was in High school she went to the Detroit area where several of my aunts and uncles lived.  She went to live with one of my Aunt's that did not have any children.
My grandfather built the house for my grandmother and it had a "sun porch" and a "parlor"
My grandmother and grandfather did not have a lot of money but they had several properties.  They had an old school house and owned the house next door to them and also my grandmother had a restaurant.  I remember the restaurant and the dishes she had
This teapot and creamers are from my grandmothers restaurant.

Here is my grandmothers house several years after my grandmother moved downstate of Michigan and several years after she passed away.  There were 2 bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs and I remember she did not have a bathroom till several years after I was born.  I remember using the outhouse!!!

And this is a picture of the small cabin that was on my grandmothers property.  My mother and father lived in it after they got married and remember my mother trying to potty train me.  She told me I was 18 months old when she was potty training me.  The cabin was probably only about 500 square feet with only one bedroom.
Also here is a picture of the outhouse, it is hard to see with all the over growth of no one living on the property for over 15 years.  The property was left to my uncle he was the youngest.  After a few years my uncle let his one of his daughter's move in and she did a complete renovation and they tore down the cabin.  I really wish I had pictures of the house since she and her husband did a fantastic job renovating my grandmas house.

Here are the pillow cases she made, they are not my colors but I saved them any way and I still have them.  I get them out to look at them and look at the work my grandmother had put into them.  I also have some things she crocheted but they were also colors (orange, yellow and brown) that I do not use in my home but I lovingly look at them wishing I could talk to her and hear her call me with her wraspy voice "Susie put on your babushka!!"
Wish I would have spent more time with my babcia to learn about her childhood and to learn about my mom and aunts and uncles when they were young!!!!
Thanks for visiting and listening to me reminisce!!!!

 Do widzenia, do zobaczenia
 (Bye see you later)
