Misc finds and shopping

I can't believe how time flies!!!  When I think I am ahead of the game.....NOT!!
First I want to show you some things I found, I have many boxes still in storage and last Sunday I went through some of the boxes (I still had to put away my Halloween things) and look what I found:
My salt and pepper shakers!!!  They go well with my tray that all of you told me I should keep it the way it is
Some of my tea cups and teapots....I have more that I put in my hutch
Also my red teapot there the handle is broken and I only found part of it so I am not sure what I am going to do with it?  I have found 8 broken things so far in my storage unit it is very heartbreaking cause my sons are the ones that helped me move.  I am sure they were hoping they broke EVERYTHING so they wouldn't have to help me again :(
I moved my goodies from my hutch to here so I could put some teacups and dishes I found in my storage unit.  I like the pink house it lights up!!!  I found that at Marshall's recently.
I found my sweet little dresses the one on the right has beautiful smocking on it.
And then I went shopping yesterday and bought all of this!!!  I have all these things I want to make and got carried away.   I better get started!!!!  Can't wait to get done so I can show you what I made.

I did make a coffee filter wreath...I love it!!!   I am going to make one for my mother also.  I want to make a wreath with lace that I saw on one of the blogs....so pretty!!!

And so I better get started and if I don't do a post before Thursday
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!!

Weekend Finds

I went treasure hunting yesterday and look what I found!

The lamp ($9) and crocheted doily $4) I got from a antique mall.  The silver tray and glass vase I got from Goodwill ($2 for both) and the little pink creamer I got from Marshall for $3.  The lamp shades I just LOVE they have little pink roses on them I got for $1.99 a piece and they only had four left (I bought all four) and the little chippy bird was $1.49 at Old Time Pottery.  I spent under $30 bucks!!!  I am thinking about painting the tray white but I also like the tarnished look...which do you like?
What treasures did you find on your weekend scavenge?
Enjoy your Sunday (I am in the process of putting away Halloween decorations...it sure is fun putting them up but not much fun taking them down.)

Friendship

I have been thinking a lot about relationships.  There are UPS and downs in every relationship, sometimes you are able to weather the storm and sometimes not.  I think sometimes people just give up too easily on marriages and friendships and sometimes even family relationships.  I value the friendships I have made and believe their is a reason that person came into my life.

Even when you live across the country from each other and after 30 years you are still friends. A friendship that started in the 8th grade and you shared your most intimate secrets of crushes on boys, family matters and school situations.  Someone you shared some memories forever etched in your mind.  Now with email and facebook you still keep in touch and are aware of each others daily life.
Sometimes you meet someone you picked and you will always be friends because they helped you out in difficult situations and was there for you and you will always be forever grateful.
Sometimes your friend is picked for you but you were only 3 months old and after 33 years, I guess someone was right in choosing this friend for you.

Sometimes you meet someone and then they move away and you loose contact, and one day you are out shopping and you run into someone that recognizes you and lets you know your friend has moved back and has been trying to find you, it must be fate right?
Friends you have met over 40 years ago and sometimes you don't see them often and you think about them and wonder do they think of you?
Sometimes there is a bond, where all of you are trying to achieve the same goal, lots of blood sweat and tears (we played their song in band) and you come together as friends and even after 40+ years you plan a reunion to reconnect with the friends that bonded together so many years ago.

My Sweet Tooth

I have pictures I would like to share but my hard drive on my computer crashed!!!  Does anyone know how I can get those pictures downloaded to a disk?
Well let me see what I can find one moment please....................
Here are some of my "goodies" I have in my hutch....don't they look yummy????  I am also collecting wedding cake toppers trying to talk my mother to give me hers, my parents have been married for 55 years!!  Quite an accomplishment for these days!!  I wasn't so lucky :(
These cookies look good enough to eat don't you think?
All the little cupcakes and the petite fours are so yummy looking.  Please excuse me if I don't remember what I got from who and I apologize if I left someone out (you know senior moment), please let me know so I can give credit for them where credit is deserved. The little petite fours I bought at Cathy's shop Treasured Heirlooms and the Chocolate cake, the heart shaped cookies, the vanilla cupcakes I got from Char's shop Some Place in Thyme.  The adorable Chocolate faux tea cake and the sweet Rose Fax cupcake in pink and the lovely rose Petite Four Cake came from Kim at My Pink Boutique
Aren't they just the sweetest things you have ever seen?
I hope to get my pictures from my crashed hard drive, I have some really nice pictures of my "stuff" and also my kids and grandsons.
Thank you for joining me with my sweet tooth!!!

My Halloween Decorate...for today :)

I thought I would share with you some of the decorations I have been doing.  Up to today my camera has not been cooperative.

This is a side table I have in my dining room.  Because of the love I have for the color pink I have not decorated for Halloween in several years but reading your posts and seeing your pictures have inspired to see what I could come up with.
This is my dining room table.  I got the chargers at Michaels and are really candle holders, they have rhinestones all around the edge of them.  The checkered plates are from Target and are also candle holders.  I had a hard time finding white pumpkins and I am going to take the largest one and paint it pink and put some lace and roses on it :)  I took some checkered ribbon and put bows on the glasses and the sherbet thingys .  The rat and the "Creepy" I also got from Michaels, the black wine glasses I got at Dollar Tree as well as the menu sign, the checkered pumpkins I got at Target in the dollar section but they were $2.50.  Also made cake trays with Dollar Tree clear plates and candle holders just glued them together.  Took some wine bottles and put Halloween labels on them.
This little graveyard is my centerpiece for my dining room table...isn't it cute?
This silver tray I got from Dollar Tree and I am going to spray paint it black.
Oh and here is my girl Lexus...she goes with my theme of black and white on my table which reminds me I can't keep her off the table she likes to get up there and lay there and get the skeletons in the graveyard for me,  Such a helper

So I guess that's it for now
Thank you for visiting!!!  And this is so much fun, I look forward every day to look at peoples blog and their pictures.

Fall colors

Happy Fall to everyone!!!
I am originally from Michigan but I have been in Florida for 33 years now.  I miss the season changes and I had moved back to Traverse in 2001 for 14 months but came back to Florida.  This is a picture I took when I was there and the leaves were just starting to turn colors
This is a picture of me when I was 19 years old and the leaves were just turning then, I remember it was taken in September.  This wasn't a posed picture the photographer was loading his camera and I was waiting for him and when he looked up and saw this he said "Hold that pose!!!"

I found this picture and downloaded it, I just loved all the leaves that had fallen off the trees.
I sure miss the fall colors and the season changes, don't you just love the fall?  The cool crisp air and making leave piles and going on hay rides?
And......Please don't forget October is Breast Health Awareness Month
Make sure you, your mother, your sister, your cousin, your aunt, your neighbor, your girlfriend and even a work friend do a self check and be checked.
Happy Autumn!!!!
